Open cultivated field; in degraded, deciduous & evergreen, seasonal, hardwood forested are; limestone bedrock. Planted, evergreen, densely clustered herb to 305 m. tall; planted in rows for soil erosion control in agricultural fields; culms green, peduncle light greenish-yellowish and often with light pinkish, other axes dull dark violet, spikelets very dark violet; blades dull dark green above, dull green underneath. |
