Dense sclerophyllous, short-tree forest, canopy 2-4 m high, some emergents to 7 m; associates include Ardisia, Lithocarpus, Elaeocarpus, Melastoma, Podocarpus, Syzygium and Vaccinium. Occasional scrambling twiner; stems to 7 m long; lower pitcher-leaves shorter, wider and redder than aerial pitchers; corolla mottled-copperish. |
