Single stem, solitary tree palm ca. 3 m tall. Stem ca. 30 cm diam. Cover with old leaves sheath. Young leaves ca. 20 pinnae, ascending: sheaths deeply split, margins fibrous-netted, fibers black; petiole ca 95 cm long, stout; rachis ca. 2 m long: pinnae ca 110 x 5 cm on each side of rachis, flat in one plane, grayish to silvery below. Staminate inflorescences, interfoliar, rachillae ca 100 cm long, pendulous. |
