shaded places in and along the stream; primary evergreen, seasonal, hardwood+bamboo forest; granite bedrock. Evergreen, often clustered, ground herb; rhizome creeping in soil, light brown outside, inside cream and often with a vary faint light violet hue; bracts greenish and dark violet; scape greenish with a dull dark violet hue; spathe green in bud, maturing dull maroonish outside, very dark maroonish-black inside; spadix: top of anthers cream, locules dark maroon; stigmas maroon, ovaries whitish; odorless; leaf blades bright dark green above, dull light green underneath. |
