Robust, culm-forming herb to 1 m tall. Sheaths dark red. Leaves plain green slightly plicate 3-4 per sten. Inflorescence basal, arising close to leafly shoots. Leaves to 60x30 cm, base cordate, often unequal. Bracts red. Calyx and corolla tube white to pale pink; corolla lobes and lateral staminoides palest pink; lip red in centre, violet at margin. |
