Terrestrial fern with erect or ascending rhizome. Rhizome 25 cm tall, 3.5 cm diameter at crown. Crown bright green with long stiff scales. Stipes shiny, brown beneath, green above, base swollen and dark; rachis brown above and beneath. Fronds to 134 cm long, lamina 85 x 105 cm; 5-7 pairs of free pinnae, lowest bipinnate to tripinnatified; lamina facing skywards. Lamina dark green to yellow-green and slightly shiny above, hardly paler beneath. Sori slightly sunken, position of sori raised on lamina above; indusia pale green with dark centre, horseshoe shaped to reniform. |
