Its natural range among the hard-wood of the northern and western regions, especially in Chiang Mai. Culms of large size and straight, 8-12 m. in height, 5-18 cm. in diameter, internodes 30-60 cm. long, with white waxy powder below the nodes, walls 1.0-1.5 cm. thick, branches numerous, usually 3 larger branches at each node. Culms-sheaths coriaceous, brown hair outsides; sheath-ligules narrow, minutely hairy inside. Leaf-blades 11-35 cm long, 1.5-4.0 cm. broad, leaf-petioles short. |
