Habitat: degraded evergreen hardwood forest with some planted Pinus kesiya, on ridge, granite bedrock. Evergreen tree, 6.5 m tall, DBH 11 cm. Bark smooth, light brown to light grey-brown, inner bark light yellow with darker yellow streaks, strong bean smell, wood white. Pedicel and calyx dull green with sparse orange-brown indumentum. Seed pod light green to brown (dry), cream-white inside (dry), aril bright red, seeds (up to 4 in a pod) white, Leaflet blades shiny dark green above, pale green with dark green venation below. Petiole base wrinkled. Leaf buds and new shoots with orange-brown indumentum. Uncommon. |
