Habitat: Evergreen forest, along roadsides. Shrub to small tree ca. 5 m high; young twigs densely hairy with ferruginous hairs; hairs on both leaf surfaces when young, inflorescences and pods. Leaves imparipinnate; stipels absent. Inflorescences pseudoracemose, sometimes intermediate between pseudoracemose and pseudopaniculate, axillary or on old branches, densely hairy with ferruginous hairs; floral buds spindle-shaped. Corolla purple to light pink. Stamens monadelphous with basalfenestrae ca. 1 mm long. Pods dehiscent, strap-like, obovate, flattened, densely hairy with ferruginous hairs, hairs caduceus in mature pods. Seeds 1-3, transversely oriented to the length of fruits. |
