Herb, 3 m tall, leaves shiny, lower surface purplish, edge purple, midvein green. Inflorescence from rhizome near base of stem, 30 cm high, scape reddish, sterile bracts dull reddish, well spaced. Involucral bract red with dense white hair all over. Rhizome lift form ground ca. 10 cm by stilt-roots. |
