Partly open, fire-damaged, degraded, deciduous, seasonal, hardwood + bamboo forest; sandstone bedrock deciduous, perennial, ground herb; rhizome & tubers light brown outside, inside pale light green and aromatic; peduncle whitish; bracts light green, turning dull dark reddish; calyx whitish; corolla tube, lobes, staminoides, anther, filament all white; base of staminodes adjacent the filament with a light yellow marginal line; leaves absent to immature; blades dark green with dull violet along midnerve above, entirely dull violet underneath. |
