Shaded, disturbed area with secondary growth borering 20+ year old regenerating bamboo + deciduous, seasonal, hardwood forest; phyllite bedrock deciduous tree 8 m, dbh 11-16 cm; coppicing at 1 m; bark thick, very slightly roughened, grey; inner bark cream, no sap; branches gery; female inflorescence axes, bracts, sepals, ovary green; stigmas & styles pale light green; leaf bladesdull dark green above, light green underneath; liquid from boiled leaves used to bathe mothers 30 days after giving birth for health. |
