Deciduous, clump-forming herb, 25-30 cm tall on shallow soil over sandstone. Stems flattened, inclined, sheaths green, leaves 6-7/shoot, spread along shoot. Inflorescence terminal, pendent, pointing straight down. Bracts white or violet, violet ones rare but local informant says proportion of white to violet was 70:30 four years ago. Violet morph is over collected. Bracteoles, ovary and calyx white. Corolla tube, filament and anther white; lateral staminoides and lip yellow. Lip without spot. Fruit white, frequent. bulbils not produced. |
