Terrestrial fern in swampy area. Rhizome erect, 12 cm long, 6 cm diameter, frond bases persistent. Stipes and rachis pale green; stipe narrowly winges, swollen and triangular at base; rachis square in cross section, narrowly winged throughout; aerophores present at junction of pinnae and rachis, bright green. Fronds dimorphic; sterile fronds to 92 cm long, lamina 69 x 29 cm, with c. 30 pairs of pinnae, lower 2-3 pairs reflexed, 2-4 pairs of very small auricles below these; fertile fronds to 104 cm long, lamina 59 x 17 cm, to 37 pairs of pinnae 2-3 lower pairs reflexed, 5 pairs of auricles. Lamina dark and shiny above, paler and not shiny beneath. |
