Evergreen tree, 27 m high. dbh 43 cm. Bark: cream with deep, thin vertical cracks and slightly peeling in strips; inner bark with 2 distinct layers-outer fibrous and dull pink turning dark red when cut, inner even textured and pale yellow turning dark orange when cut. Leaf: dark glossy green above, pale below. Flower: sepals greenish-yellow; petals and filaments white; anthers bright yellow. Fruit (immature) dull pale yellow with brown tinge. |
